I had been seeing many beautiful photos of Africa’s highest peak; Mount Kilimanjaro with the wild animals grazing by and I couldn’t wait to go to Amboseli National Park to get those exact views and shots.

Voted by TripAdvisor earlier this year as the third best world destination for 2018, Nairobi has so much to offer and TripAdvisor describes it as “an energetic modern city that serves as a fascinating introduction to both wildlife and nightlife.” I am not surprised, the energy and the night life in this city! I love places that are so near you can drive down or hop into a matatu early in the morning to escape the city in 1 or 2 hours and be back in the evening or the next day. So last week, I did a road trip to Hell’s Gate, Naivasha.
I was last at Hell’s Gate National Park many years ago; we decided to do it again because I could hardly remember. Naivasha is an amazing town with a lot to learn, a lot to adventure in and is that ideal place for you when your wanderlust is calling for a short or spontaneous road trip. July 2016 I travelled to Maasai Mara for the annual wildebeest migration. I have done game drives before at Nairobi National Park and at Lake Nakuru National Park but hadn’t experience the game drive at the Mara so this was huge for me. Let me say that was my best travel experience in 2016.
How did it all start though? As you already know, I like budget trips, so travel packages that meet my budget are my BFF. One of my friends had mentioned in our WhatsApp group about an offer Lamech Magaki Safaris was running which required we be a group of eight people, each paying ksh13000.
